The Wild Ones Delmarva Chapter board is pleased to announce that we have chartered with the national organization! This means that we are a fully sanctioned and participating chapter of Wild Ones. The chapter officers are meeting this Wednesday, February 4th to discuss what needs to be done now that we are chartered, including the process for opening a chapter bank account. Please reach out if you are interested in joining this discussion or volunteering for chapter leadership.
At each upcoming program, we plan to update those attending with what the chapter has been up to lately and how you can be involved. We have supported some important initiatives this past year, including the Town of Denton, Maryland’s Bird City Maryland application, signing on to a letter of support for Bona Terra Nursery, supporting a grant application for Adkins Arboretum, and more currently in the works. We will continue to keep our members informed of programs and opportunities to participate by email and on social media when appropriate.
We will be switching from our current mass emailing tool to using the Wild Ones emailer. Emails from the chapter may come from [email protected], [email protected], or another Wild Ones email address for a period of time. We have some exceptional virtual and in-person events coming up, including garden tours, presentations, and a short nature connection and journaling series. See our website calendar and emails for details as they are announced.
We will be scheduling our annual member meeting with officer elections for the fall, so stay tuned for that information. Committees and planning meetings will meet throughout the year.

- Membership Committee, to plan member activities and ways to recruit new members
Do you want to help make our chapter activities relevant to what members want to see from us? We are looking for more board directors and for people interested in helping with the following:
- Attend outreach events such as tables
- Leaders to represent Delaware and support member activities there
- Advocacy for state and local legislation and policy
- Plant swap planning
- Social media posting
- Other ideas and skills you have that they chapter could explore!
We are thrilled to welcome the Eastern Shore of Virginia Seedling Chapter to Wild Ones! Our chapter will likely adapt our scope description at the February 4th meeting to accommodate them.
